Jason Anhorn

Jason Anhorn brings more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, higher education, fundraising, and community engagement to his role as a Director on the Board of the DMAX Foundation. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Council for Relationships (CFR), a Philadelphia-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening interpersonal connections through accessible, expert therapy and clinical training.
Recognized as a growth-focused and mission-driven leader, Jason is known for executing successful fundraising, communications, and engagement strategies that have increased visibility and secured diverse funding streams for organizations across sectors. His career began in higher education, with leadership roles at Lehigh University, Coastal Carolina University, the University of North Carolina, and Elon University, where he focused on student development, crisis response, and substance use counseling—work that shaped his inclusive and empathetic approach to leadership.
Jason’s transition into nonprofit and foundation leadership has been marked by his success in cultivating major gifts, fostering collaborative partnerships, and leading teams to achieve ambitious strategic goals. He has also served as a general manager in the fitness industry, where he aligned his passion for physical health and wellness with community programming.
A Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE), Jason is respected for his ability to leverage data-driven insights, build cross-sector alliances, and lead organizational change while maintaining a focus on quality, compliance, and impact. He holds a Master of Education in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Arts from Lehigh University.
Jason’s lived experience as a person in long-term recovery deeply informs his commitment to mental health, stigma reduction, and inclusive support for young people and families—aligning closely with the mission of the DMAX Foundation.
