Program Manager

Cara recently joined the DMAX team and is heading up the management of our DMAX Program through our partnership with Connecticut Children’s. Cara firmly believes that peer connection is one of our most powerful tools in strengthening mental health and emotional wellness for young people, and is honored to manage the DMAX Program dedicated to creating spaces where all young people feel seen, heard, and supported. 

Cara During holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and in Gender Studies from the University of Rhode Island. For over a decade, Cara has guided programs, teams, and strategy in violence prevention, survivor support, and youth mental health. Her experience has spanned frontline education, program development, and senior leadership in the non-profit sector.

Cara comes to DMAX through her role serving as the Assistant Manager of the Youth Suicide Prevention Center at Connecticut Children’s, where she oversees multiple initiatives aimed at mental health promotion and suicide prevention. Cara’s work is driven by a strong commitment to prevention and fostering safer, more supportive communities.
